Knight City (MHR)
The name of the place is Knight City, named after original pilgrim founder and first mayor John Knight. Because the old road sign on the interstate highway is somewhat faded, it actually reads "night city", which is a commonly used nickname. Think of a city like New York and Gotham. Foggy alleys from the old steam pipes, gargoyles stuck on 30's style skyscrapers, a corrupt police force, the works.
This is for the Marvel Heroic Roleplaying game run tuesdays with Robin, Wolf, en Mel. We have a traumatized private military contractor, a scientist with a suit of amazing technology, and a man with mysterious powers that may very well be infernal in origin.
Together, they fight crime.
What you need to understand about the apocalypse is that you aren't Mad Max. You're part of the skull pyramid in the background.

RE: Knight City (MHR)
Some of the more important places and people.
City Mayor: Tyrian Vultorre
The aging Vultorre has been incumbent mayor for over 20 years, despite many allegations of corruption, election fraud, and ties to organized crime. None of these rumors have ever been proven true. According to the mayor himself, he is simply a victim of sharing a last name with a notorious crime family who were powerful in the city back in the days of Prohibition.
He has uncanny political wits and he's always managed to come out of any crisis stronger than before, which earned him the nickname "The Vulture" in the local papers (or at least the papers he doesn't own).
Chief of Police: James "The Buck" Buckner
A hard, unyielding officer of the law who has zero time for political games or shifting blame to others. (As they say, the buck stops here.) In the climate of Knight City this should be career suicide but he managed to climb the ladder anyway, in no small part due to his popularity amongst clean cops and the inability of any opponent to make dirt stick to him.
Correctional Facilities
Ordinary criminals go to Coldhollow Prison, a dour gray building nestled in a shadowed valley. The valley air is humid and the place itself is an overcrowded madhouse of rusty pipes, mold, and aging security measures.
Any criminals with special abilities go to a new facility built into Fort Kirby, simply referred to as The Fort by locals, an old relic of the civil war until recently it was quickly converted. The place is run by the enigmatic warden Howard Vanderghast.
Alphabet Soup
Every now and then some agents of AEGIS may show up - the Agency for Extranormal Global Intervention and Security. They have little business in the city itself but they do show up at the Fort from time to time for prisoner transport. Director Talia Thorne is a familiar face from tv interviews and statements.
What you need to understand about the apocalypse is that you aren't Mad Max. You're part of the skull pyramid in the background.
