Entertainment: 'Serves You Right!' Overnight Sensation

The professional troublemakers XCon Mike and Vera "Coyote" Kooy did it again! Their new show, 'Serves You Right!', aired yesterday to post-Fall record viewers. The dynamic duo takes on a fatal challenge each episode, with the loser reinstantiated into a robotic servitor body outfitted with a cyberbrain to host their ego. In this shape the loser has to be the winner's servant for a week, when it becomes time to face a new challenge back in their standard splicer morphs. Last night's episode had the two jogging over the Martian surface without vacsuits or breathers. The Coyote took an initial strong lead until asphyxiation panic set in and she was overtaken by Mike, who fell just several feet ahead of her. Proving once again that slow and steady wins the race, a lesson Vera can ponder on as she plays slave to Mike for the coming week.

Synopsis of Mission 01-C:

• Breaking into the clinic which originally installed Ziggy's skillware provided access to more medical data. But again no anomalies were found.
• Umbra was contacted by a delta-level fork of Namir, who heard that the team had spoken to Dr Ahrenberg. He was willing to strike a deal.
• The team should find a certain mister Goldflux in one of the souks, a dataminer and information broker. They would have to terminate him, remove his cortical stack, and pass it on to a local smuggler.
• The team tracked down Fluxgold in his office but he was already in a spot of trouble with a local street gang. They held him down and proceeded to saw off his head - a quick but messy method of obtaining the cortical stack. The team wasn't about to let that happen so they swiftly jumped out of hiding and executed the thugs.
• Soon after, Namir contacted the team informing them of what his superiors know about the situation. Ziggy is the only volunteer without a hyper-linguistics bioware adjustment. And the damaged areas in his brain are exactly those areas that would be mutated for the hyper-linguistics. This does raise further questions however: a properly functioning skillware couldn't damage the brain unless directly told to do so. But it can't be hacked from outside, Ziggy wouldn't do want this to happen, a nanoware pathogen could mess him up far more effectively in some other manner, and the Rosetta skillsoft contains no such instructions. So it still leaves the mystery not quite answered: if the skillware damaged his brain, why did it do so...?

Entertainment: Skin Rocket restored to glory!

All virtu-rock fans, have your muse mark this day: Skin Rocket's lead singer Graham Southbridge has been reinstantiated! His ego was lost during the Fall and for years the legendary band's future was uncertain. We don't have to worry any more because fate smiled on Skin Rocket. Graham is currently readjusting to modern life with friends and family and they ask fans to allow them some privacy for now. But his managers also assured us that Skin Rocket would definitely make the greatest comeback in history!

For those of you who have lived under a rock these past two decades, let us remind you who Skin Rocket is. They achieved critical acclaim and notoriety with their second album, Skin Rocket to Uranus, which was entirely written, recorded, and finished during a year-long trip through the solar system aboard a plasma engine spacecraft. The album they produced was the first of its kind, containing a full length music clip of the whole album containing XP of the band member's own experiences during the creation process. Each song was laced with the band's own perspectives, their laughs, their fights, and in the case of Martian Hangover their sensations of performing on the planet's largest stage as well as the morning after. Although most commercial copies of the album these days omit the album's final and some would say best track, Coming Home (everywhere), which allows the user to see and feel what it's like to ejaculate in zero-g.

Skin Rocket to Uranus was at once a making-of documentary, a revolutionary musical product, and a memorial to itself. Although the technology is common nowadays, this album is considered by many to be the first true virtu-rock experience.

ok, so i've been thinking about Sam's enemy and i've had the following idea:

- first off, scratch 'Billy the Squid'; from now on, this bugger's (code) name is 'Calamari Dave'!
- he really is an octopus uplift. never mind that calamari is squid, we all know how accurately fake internet names reflect reality.
- he's actually either an alpha or beta fork of Sam's who's trying to backspace him!

exactly why Dave wants to get rid of Sam and what it was that possessed Sam to either create an alpha fork, or let a beta fork run around long enough to get ideas of its own, remains to be seen, but i thought this might be a nifty premise to work forwards from

as a result of the above, Sam's no longer really willing to create beta forks anymore (deltas're probably fine), would have (secretly, in this case) regarded Widow's recent fork with suspicion (and would've been ready to blow the bugger away at the first hint of betrayal), and something something something, because this piece needed a third element but i can't think of anything.
