Methinks we'd better get this rolling.

I mean, I have (or can generate) ideas, but you're going to run it, so you'd best states whatever boundary conditions you do have.

Mountains, zee, swamp, forests, small towns, etc

Setting is forgotten realms achtige DnD wereld.

What you need to understand about the apocalypse is that you aren't Mad Max. You're part of the skull pyramid in the background.

Party of half-orcs? A wandering metal band and their roadies? Bard on vocals, Cleric of the god of thunder on drums, and so on? (Doesn't matter if nobody can play instruments - neither can most bands. Wink ) They can wander the lands in search of cash, groupies, and sweet monster skulls to use as props for their shows. And sometimes accidentally they might foil an evil noble's plans because they mistook his cultist lair for an underground club.

Metal murder hobos. I like it.

Now, to implement some kind of dance-off mechanic...

We'll need a name.

Green Sabbath
Children of Sauron
Ozzy Orkborn
Orcowar
Cannibal Orcs

Smile

Dat lijkt me ook maar het was even leuk om het idee van Green Sabbath te proeven. Grin

Rogue (Seppe)
Cleric (Mel)
Wizard (Eelco)
Fighter (Ot)
Bard/Druid (Mark)
Paladin/Barbarian (Tristan)
Warlock (Arik)

The Half-Orc Cleric of War! Hailing from the lovely farming hamlet of fairfields where his kind human parents still live happily (adopted) Conscripted during the gnoll wars, he signed on for a full 4 years in the army of something.

Now honourably discharged and with war in his blood, and no plans to pick up the farming trade, he seeks new adventures and splendid wealths!

I get the War part, but how did he become a cleric? Does he do deity, or is he just War incarnate, waiting to be released?

Also, you forgot to mention that his name is Steve.

Ok, I'm going for a tiefling hell-warlock. In his younger years he picked up the "trade" from his uncle, who raised him. But he was vanquished by heroes and the young proto-PC was captured. Although he'd dabbled in dark arts he was also not yet of age and forced to do so. Because of this his punishment was community service: five years as a corsair, serving on one of the infamous prisoner-ships which operate under warden-officers and with letters of marque to raid the shipping lanes of hostile kingdoms.

He gained the nickname Brimstone Jack, several tattoos, a bad rep, a different girlfriend in every port, and many tall tales. But after he done his time he turned his back on the sea and returned home, ready to settle down and finally claim a normal life of his own.

That lasted about three months. 'Brimstone Jack' (real name to be determined later) discovered that he really missed having a team of marauding ne'er-do-wells around him, killing bad people and taking their stuff. The next career move was obvious...

What you need to understand about the apocalypse is that you aren't Mad Max. You're part of the skull pyramid in the background.

RE: Ye Schoole of Olde: AD&D Adventurers
fine, it was in the chaos of the battle of red river bridge that Steve was gifted a divine connection.

Steve and Leila were part of a vanguard send to take the bridge from the gnolls, who had made a small camp there, and hold until the main force arrived. Taking the bridge was easy, unfortunately the gnoll horde was much closer than expected and Bonegnasher himself came to take it back.
It was during the gnolls third charge, after Steves government issue shield was shattered and his sword got stuck in a gnoll skull, that Steve, almost out of instinct, grabbed a fallen gnolls Great-Axe, which was odd because Steve had no proficiencies in martial weapons, and, for a first time in Steves life, he found a strange but serene calm washing over him, his orc blood no longer screamed in rage, and everything seemed to be right, it was at that moment he knew, the gods were with him.

After the battle the other soldiers spoke of Steve screaming blessings at his platoon and slapping seemingly fallen comrades back on their feet.
