This is the topic in which we can discuss the play-by-post game I will soon play together with JLT, Jazzper, Wolfenstein, Maszah, and Melchior. We use the Bithright setting with the Artesia system. I would like to get started soon-ish, so if anybody still hasn't finished their characters, please do so. You can email me if you have any questions or need of assistance.
This thread is only for out of character business, such as discussions about the game, making plans, complimenting people on particularly good descriptions, posting pictures or links that are somehow relevant, and so on. Once we're ready to begin I will start a separate in-character thread for the actual game itself. This will keep the game focused and free of clutter.
Anybody who has finished their character, please post below their statistics, descriptions, histories, companions, and other relevant details. People who currently aren't done yet can post whatever they have and later edit in the rest, or wait until it's all done. Whichever they prefer.
Guidelines for the game are as follows.
1. Ideal posting rate is a minimum of six posts per week. Meaning, one post per day with the understanding that sometimes you won't be able to make that. As this is only a guideline it's no problem if you can't always make that, particularly during holidays, sickness, or other real-life events. We're not unreasonable people.
2. This is a mature game handling mature topics. It's a world where people sometimes kill, torture, fuck, vomit, give birth, or otherwise engage in things that warrant an NC-17 rating. Do not read this thread if such topics are uncomfortable to you.
2a. That said, there is no need to get unnecessarily graphic with our descriptions. If your character wants to have sex with someone it's fine to just say so, but we don't want to make a pornographic fanfic out of this game.
2b. If one player makes it clear that they are uncomfortable with a certain topic, we will not pursue that direction any longer.
3. I will make all necessary die rolls and inform you of their outcome. I will provide a minimum of mechanical details, making the system mostly invisible to you and leaving you free to focus on the narrative side of things instead. (For example, I will tell you that you successfully climbed a wall, but not what your exact roll was.)
4. If your post has to include an out of character comments or questions, please use the following notation:
((OOC: "text goes here"))
5. Because the written medium can be slow, feel free to take certain minor liberties to keep the pace up. For example, when you introduce yourself to somebody you don't need to say "hello" and then stop writing because you expect the other person to say hello back to you. It's fine to say "hello, I am here because..." as that will save time.
6. Have fun.

I'd also like a bit of description though. I know he's a man 21 years of age, but I don't know anything like hair color, height, build, and so on. If you please.

I'd just like to point that it's been a week now and we've yet to hear anything from two of our players. Guys, I know for a fact that you've got something to show us. The sooner you post, the sooner we can play.

The House of Black Heart from the black hills of Thoralinar from which their name originated. The province is nestled between the gorgons spine mountain range and the nation of Elinie, a country they still consider to be foreign invaders and heretics and are thus constantly at odds with them one way or another. Being a mountainous country the economy is dominated by the massive mining industry with some sheep herding. With most of the mines of Ghoere situated here they provide the steel, copper and coal needed for Ghoere's large army and that made the province wealthy despite the inhospitable landscape. The mountainous land, aggressive neighbours, working in the mines combined with the usual discipline and the martial nature of Ghoere it has forged a strong and durable people.
The House of Black Heart and thus Thoralinar have undergone somewhat of a modernization under the rule of Countess Annia and her husband Antonio, a powerful magister from the capital Bhalaene who in his youth studied at the great schools in Anuire. Together they were no longer content to only provide raw materials but have set up great forges and foundries to not only provide great quality weapons and armour but to also infuse them with Antonio's magic. This has led to a boom to Thoralinars economy but more importantly it seems it also led to a boom for House Black Heart for with seven sons and one daughter they are undoubtedly blessed.
Eldest and Heir is Gration ever dutiful he has become the "perfect" son. 27 Ally
Second son is Decimus, his natural martial prowess made him a rising star in the armies of Ghoere, he currently hold the rank of Captain. 24 Friend
Third is Valerius currently being trained as a scholar in the capital of Ghoere. He was supposed to be the emissary of the family to Anuire, a high honour, but it was decided that his talents lay elsewhere. 23 Rival
The middle son is Corvid, more on him later.
Fifth is Amelius following in the fathers footsteps, literally, as his apprentice. 20 Compatriot.
Sixth is Lucius, ever since his 16th where his childhood love fell for Corvid instead of him he has been focused on his spiritual growth, currently a priest of Cuiraecen. 19, Rival
Youngest son is Alexander, His live has so far not yet been planned out for him, a fact he appreciates greatly. 17 Compatriot
Youngest of the family and only daughter, Erin it is said that her brothers were born out of duty and she was born out of love. Though favourite of everyone she sometimes lives a bit of an isolated life, with seven older brothers, some knights and wizards. 15 Friend.

(fyi my paper sheet had sending and seeing but they are crap so I changed it)
Born under the sign of the Dragon and the Omen of the Evening-star it foretold that he would have a life of beauty and sensual pleasure while remaining a soldier of Ghoere.
He has a prominent scar on the left side of his cheek, jaw and down his neck from a deep cut received in his earlier days from one of his older brothers no doubt, though prominent he does not seem to care about it that much and unlike some Anuirians he does not try to hide it but almost wears it like a badge of honour.
Some say he did not received it at all from his brothers but from the time he spend abroad with the infamous mercenary company the Red Devils. Though this is hard to verify as little is known about this period in Corvid's live. No one seems willing to talk about it and Corvid insists he only did some administrative work for them before quickly changing the subject and becoming angry if pressed for more information, indicating that his leave of his family was not entirely sanctioned and or that he did more than just administrative work.
Whatever the case may have been, it was a turning point in Corvids live, hereafter he was more closely watched and began his formal training for his eventual position as Emissary. His father pulled some strings for him and he became a student of a renowned Magister from the collage of Anuir and also spend a year in the capital of Ghoere under the tutelage of Lady Kala, learning the finer arts of diplomacy.
In his final year at home, before he left for Anuir, he was seen to be frequently in the company of, some say romanticly so, Thalia, heir to Canallier, the neighbouring province to the north west, though not unusual as the two families have been friends for generations and frequently visit each other depending on the season and since no wedding plans have been announced it is probably all just speculation but rumours still persist.
All in all Corvid stands as an fine example of a Knight of Ghoere, tall, broad at the sholder with his black hair in an typical efficient Ghoere haircut but unlike most Knights he is described by his friends to have a playful glint in his brown eyes, a sly grin and always up for a for a party without ever seeming to overdo it.
If you wish to know more or contact him you can always find his Page Gaius, a somewhat older man with greying hair and a small beard, at his mansion in the noble quarters of Anuir.
(for some reason Corvid's horse is named buttercup, best not to make any jest about it if you want to stay on his good side)
Despite his title of Ser and standing as a Knight he is in fact a wizard as the included picture clearly indicates.

I'd like to point out though that Ser is not a historic word, but I'd like you to keep using it regardless. It can be part of the Ghoere accent. Although the setting assumes all Anuireans speak the exact same language I'd like it if people had these little speech patterns and pronunciations that differ by region.
What you need to understand about the apocalypse is that you aren't Mad Max. You're part of the skull pyramid in the background.
Linnias Khorien was born in the year {year}, in the fortified village {village name} of the Boeruine empire under the star sign of the Sun Bull with blooming flower all around. Promising him a strong and earth blessed life. He is the son of Riegon Khorien and Caliendre Raenech.
Being the oldest with four other siblings life was a bit crowded, but generally fun. He got along pretty well with his mother and three of his siblings. During these years he also got on quite good with Brosen Raehech, an officer of his fathers unit. Brosen saw teaching Linnias as a good way of repaying his debt to Riegon.
His 16h birthday, which should have been a day of joy and party, turned in a day of sadness and sorrow. Just when his father started on the "today you've become a man" speech, soldiers of the ruler stormed in, and arrested poor not so old Linnias. On suspicion of murder!
Because of his fathers good standing with Brosen, and his good standing with the guard, Linnias wasn't sentenced to death immediately. And that turned out to be his luck. Al through his incarceration Linnias kept on swearing that he was innocent, although all evidence did point his way.
After careful research by his mother, Caliendre and Brosen, it turned out to be that Arlen Khorien, his eldest younger brother was the actual murderer. Though it was actually an accident to which Linnias bore witness without realizing it. Arlen thought he had a perfect plan to actually get away with it. Just before he could be arrested and sentenced for this crime, Arlen managed to get away and flee. Since then, no one has seen hide nor hair of him.
Ashamed that he let things get so out of hand, Linnias threw himself into training with Brosen after having been incarcerated for a year.
Linnias spent the next few years training, traveling and campaigning with Brosen and his unit. His father Riegon had given up on soldier about the same time that Linnias was born, and preferred the quiet life these days. During these years Linnias learned a lot about what it meant to be a man, gained a contact from another region, fell in love, but lost her to a romantic competitor. Not being one to let things slide, this meant that he now actively dislikes his former lover.
The next year he found a seemingly abandoned castle, which Linnias explored with a passion. During this great adventure, he discovered some horrible secret which was being kept secret by a reclusive wizard. This wizards wants this secret to be safe, so though Linnias got out with just promising to keep it safe, the wizard is now regretting letting Linnias go, and might try and silence him.
The year before Brosen sent Linnias away to Anuire for further studies into the art of being a real officer, Linnias was selected to be a temple assistent in a temple where they had been camping for a while. Though this turned out to be an interesting experience, Linnias realized that his primary interest lay in fighting and commanding people.
So now he is in Anuire, renting a nice place (campaigning really pays), walking around in really wel made and enchanted armor. Guarded by three of his closest military colleagues.
