There might be a slight issue. Namely, I've got the two dogs here and don't want to leave them alone for several hours (I don't trust them not to fight with one another just yet). Is it an option to play here? It's a bit out of the way and smoking would have to be done outside, so there's definitely some downsides to that.

Generic remark about my place: you will meet Max, the new dog. He is large and will bark at you when you ring the front door but since I'm there to let you in he won't actually bite you so there's no need to be intimidated. That can be tricky when a large dog is barking at you but I want to assure you that everything's fine. His barking should only last a few seconds anyway.

Max is an Alsatian, the other dog is Nima, bringing a little snack would make you good friends. But I'd just bring a little thing, Melchior brought two giant chew-snacks for them that will keep them occupied for weeks. We don't need even more of that stuff right now.

Alternatively, just petting them will also make you good friends.

I have found that I am generally well-received by dogs now that I've grown to really, REALLY like dogs.

I shall win over this... Alsatian... With petting and baby talk.

As for diner: Aardappelgratin sounds great to me. I'll make some nice dishes next to it.
One not though: Aardappelgratin needs to be in the oven for about 60 minuten, so we'll probably eat 19:15-19:20 ish.
