AT&T blocks 4chan

Access to the /b/ and /r9k/ forums has been blocked on the US west coast for all clients of the AT&T internet provider. 4chan users are retaliating by spreading personal information of AT&T executives online. This tuesday (juli 28) a campaign of misinformation is planned to spread the rumor that AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson has died, thus forcing the stock value to drop.

AT&T has since, at least partially, lifted the block so it remains to be seen what forms of vengeance will actually come out of it.


Gentlemen, we might just be about to witness one of the most interesting signs of our times. Or at least a very amusing show.

Update

It seems definite now that 4chan was under a DDoS attack and AT&T blocked the server in an effort to stop it. Now it remains to be seen if anonymous cares.
