As requested by Voh, I hereby give away my secrets of manga. Onemanga.com contains a huge amount of manga online for easy viewing.

My personal favorites include:

Claymore, about a medieval world where demons hide amongst mankind. Only a select few half-demon hybrid warriors, nicknamed Claymores, can detect their presence and oppose them. Starts out ok, but skyrockets to awesomeness as the sordid secrets of the Claymores and the demons are revealed. Something is very, very wrong with the world.

Fairy Tail is the name of a guild of mages who are funloving and freedom loving. They have their hearts in the right place, but are blessed with ridiculous amounts of firepower and much less tact and common sense. This series is fun and high on action. Artistic style takes some getting used to.

Soul Eater combines Japanese comics with Tim Burton's sense of Halloween. A school of unusual demonhunters who face off against snake-wtiches, the god of madness, and an evil organization called Arachnophobia. Very stylized and with lots of western references. For examples: There is a witch called Blair. There is also a fighter whose strongest attack is called Apex Twin, due to his two magic gauntlets.

Naruto is about ninjas who do improbable stunts with their bullshit ninja-skills. Although the anime sucks, the manga manages to keep a nice pace of fire-breathing, lightning-punching, wall-running superhero action.

History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi is about a wimpy high schooler who manages to get enrolled into a dojo where he's taught by ludicrously strong warriors. So strong in fact that the training itself is often nearly fatal to him. Although the art isn't all that great and there's quite a bit of fanservice, it's a funny little series with decent action and quirky characters.

Bleach is hard to describe because it changes style over time. It starts with young man Ichigo who can see the spirits of the dead. Soon after he perceives a Shinigami (mythological Japanese spirit of the dead, comparable to the Grim Reaper) who shares powers with him. But soon after it's simply about mystic super-warriors who fight eachother with magic katanas.

Manhole (yes, yes, laugh, get it out of your system) is about the outbreak of a disease. It's not funny, there's no action, no hot chicks. It's just a gripping story of terror that plays on your basic fears of diseases, parasites, and helplessness.

On the same site I also follow Deadman Wonderland, Ga-Rei, Liar Game (it's like "weerwolven" gone horribly wrong), and Air Gear. But they're secondary. Feel free to check out the site and tell me which ones you can recommend as well, because I don't have the time to sift through all 700+ of them. Tongue

(NB: For those not used to reading manga, the panels are to be read from right to left. These are "scanlations", where an original manga is scanned in and the text replaced with english. The panels have not been flipped for our convenience, so you'll have to get used to it.)

What you need to understand about the apocalypse is that you aren't Mad Max. You're part of the skull pyramid in the background.

Here's an uncool link, but some of y'all might be interested in seeing this.

This is who's going to take over David Tennant's role as the Doctor when the 2009 'season' ends.

you know, he doesn't look all that bad when he's been styled in front of the tardis. while i know they're paid to be, the BBC people seem to be pretty enthusiastic about him. i wonder...

the emo/actor pic that you posted looks like hell though. shit.

I wasn't happy with Tennant at first either, I'd gotten used to Eccleston, and that was after only one season. We're 3 seasons down the road with Tennant now, and I'm sure the new Doctor will be good. I just wonder how good and if he'll live up to the previous two (of the new show).

But in front of the Tardis, well, yeah, he does kinda fit in, I guess Tongue
